Terms of Service

Last updated October 8, 2026

These terms cover posting a spot, claiming one, and switching on text alerts. Please read them — in plain language, they come down to: be honest, turn up, and pay the person you subbed for.

Accepting these terms

By creating an account, posting a spot, or claiming one through a SubForTennis link, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Who can use SubForTennis

You must be 18 or older and able to enter a contract. One account per person, with your real name and a mobile number you control — the whole service runs on people trusting the name attached to a spot.

Your account

  • Keep your password private and tell us at support@subfortennis.com if someone else gets into your account.
  • Everything posted under your account is yours, including no-shows and cancellations.
  • Keep your level honest. Your conduct score and reviews build on accurate information.

Posting a spot

  • Post only sessions you're actually entitled to give up — your own clinic, lesson or court booking.
  • Give accurate details: date, start time, length, court, level range, price and any court fees.
  • You choose who gets texted first: your sub list, or everyone nearby who matches.
  • You can cancel an open spot at any time. Once it's claimed, talk to the sub before you cancel.
  • You decide who plays. SubForTennis doesn't referee the arrangement between you and the sub.

Claiming a spot and paying

  • The first person to confirm through a spot's link takes it, and the spot closes to everyone else.
  • A claim is an agreement between the two of you. You're committing to attend, and the poster is committing to let you take their place.
  • Payment is directly between players. SubForTennis never holds, moves or guarantees money. Pay the poster through the handle they listed — Venmo, Cash App or Zelle — at the agreed price.
  • If something goes wrong — a no-show, a cancelled court, a payment that never arrives — that's between the players. Tell us at support@subfortennis.com and we'll help where we can, but we aren't a party to the deal.

Text alerts

Text alerts are off until you turn them on in your profile. When you tick "Text me alerts", you give SubForTennis permission to message the mobile number on your account.

Your opt-in means this: By ticking this box you agree to receive automated text messages from SubForTennis at the mobile number you give us — sub alerts, claim notices and confirmations. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.

  • You'll get texts about new spots near you at your level, notice when someone claims your spot, and a confirmation when you first sign up.
  • Reply STOP to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. You can also untick the box in your profile.
  • Opting in is voluntary. You can post, claim and browse without ever receiving a text.
  • We record each text we send so nobody gets the same alert twice, and we honour STOP requests on record as well as on the network.

Conduct

Don't use SubForTennis to:

  • Post fake, duplicate or already-sold spots, or text people who never asked for alerts.
  • Harass, discriminate or exclude someone from a spot on a protected basis.
  • Scrape the site, resell access, or send automated traffic that isn't the app itself.
  • Impersonate another player or coach, or use someone else's payment handle.

Conduct score

Each player's conduct percentage is calculated from sessions completed and reports made against them. It's a signal, not a guarantee — you still choose who you play with, and they choose you. We can remove content or close accounts that break these rules.

No guarantee

The service is provided "as is". We don't promise that a spot will be filled, that a sub will turn up, that a court will be open, or that the app will be error-free or always available. Tennis carries its own risk of injury; you play at your own risk.

Your content

You keep what you post. You give us permission to display it in the app — on spot cards, claim links and alerts — for as long as it's needed to run the service.

Limits on our responsibility

Where the law allows, SubForTennis isn't liable for lost sessions, lost payments, injury or any indirect loss arising from a spot posted or claimed here. Our total liability for anything is the greater of what you've paid us or one US dollar. Some states don't allow this limit, so it may not apply to you.

Changes

We can change the service and these terms. If a change matters — pricing, who gets texted, how claims work — we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use SubForTennis means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and disputes go to the courts there. That doesn't take away any rights you can't give up under your local consumer law.
